The Ear Centre is part of the International Nepal Fellowship ‘Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre’ (GPH-RC) at Naya Gaun in Pokhara.
The Ear Centre opened in 2015 and has state of the art facilities, many of which are not yet readily available elsewhere in Nepal.
The Ear Centre also forms a hub for training and for community ear care.
EAN supports these facilities and services by voluntary assistance with international supporters, friends and colleagues.
The Ear Centre provides, for children and adults:
- A wide range of medical and surgical treatments for ear problems,
- Hearing tests, including routine and complex tests
- Hearing aid fitting including hearing therapy and tinnitus counselling
- Dizziness (vertigo) assessment clinic and tests
- Vestibular disorder (dizziness and poor balance) physiotherapy
- Speech therapy
EAN’s aims are:
- Help provide high quality medical facilities.
- Help provide training for primary, secondary and tertiary level health staff about ear and hearing related problems.
- Educate the public about ear disease and hearing loss, including preventive measures.
- Help provide services to people that through geography or hardship may have difficulty obtaining adequate treatment.
